NSF tribute of 93th Death anniversary of Chander Shekhar Azad

National Secular Forum paid tributes to Saheed Chander Shekhar Azad on his 93th Death Anniversary at University Campus. Amid slogans “Chander Shekhar Azad Zindabad” “Inqulaab Zindabad” ‘Bharat Mata ki jai” and garlanded the portraits of the son of soil.
Sh Ankush Abrol Provincial Joint Secretary JKNC was the chief guest while Dr. Vikas Sharma Coordinator Jammu District Urban and Zonal Secretary JKNC, presided over the function and Vikshay Vashist, State Secretary NSF, was the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Ankush Abrol appreciated the initiative taken by the NSF member to remember the death anniversary of Saheed Chander Shekhar Azad .
Abrol threw light on the life and supreme sacrifices of “Chander Shekhar Azad”. He said that the real tributes to the martyrs would be eradicating evils prevailing in the society like drug addiction. He exhorted the youth to refrain from drugs and intoxicants.
He also said that when arrested and produced before the magistrate, he gave his name as ‘Azad’, his father’s name as ‘Swatantra’ and his residence as ‘prison’. He was considered to be one of the most famous revolutionaries of the Independence movement.
While Speaking Dr. Vikas Sharma also said that ever since BJP took over the reign into its hand, besides the general public, the majority of youth have totally been broken and gone into a state of desperation due to anti youth policies of the present government. He added that growing unemployment was a matter of great concern as the present regime has miserably failed to create job opportunities for the youth.
He mentioned that during the Janab Omar Abdullah led NC government, jobs were provided to a large number of youth, RTI Act was enacted to eradicate corruption and several other revolutionary steps were taken to push J&K on the path of development. Dr Sharma urged the youth to come together on a single platform to push for this demand. NC would leave no stone unturned to achieve statehood for J&K.
Speaking on the occasion, Vikshay Vashist said that many freedom fighters laid down their life for the sake of the independence of this country. One of the youngest people to walk to the gallows fighting for India’s independence was Azad.
Mohd Umer Farooq President University Unit delivered the welcome address, Aditya Kargotra Working President University Unit, was delivering the vote of thanks.
