Chairman DDC Kupwara emphasizes need for proper implementation of different legislations of the Govt

District Child Protection Unit, Mission Vatsalya Kupwara today organised training cum capacity building programme on Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015, POCSO Act 2012, Adoption Regula-tions, and child rights at Town Hall Kupwara.
Chairman DDC Kupwara, Irfan Sultan Panditpori was chief guest on the occasion.
District Child Protec-tion Officer Kupwara, Hidaitullah Mir; Assistant Labour Commi-ssioner, Arshid Ahmad; DDC Member Drugmulla, Advocate Amina Majeed, Chairperson Child Welfare Committee Kupwara, Ab Rashid Malik; Members CWC, Member Juvenile Justice Board Kupwara, District Child Protection Unit officials, PLVs from DLSA Kupwara, Anganwadi workers, Prosecution Wing JJB Kupwara, Labour department, Asha Workers, Teachers from education departments, PRIs, ULBs and social welfare officials attended the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman DDC appreciated the concerned officers and Institutes for their concerted efforts in child care protection in the district. He emphasized the need for proper implementation of different legislations of the Government including Juvenile Justice Act to ensure the protection of child rights.
During the programme, various speakers highlighted the crucial role and responsibilities of stakeholders in ensuring the effective implementation of these Acts and encouraged active participation. Chairperson CWC Kupwara explained the importance of the programme and gave a detailed description of working mechanism regarding Child Welfare Committee, DCPU and JJB at the district level and detailed discussions were held on the rescue and rehabilitation process for various categories of vulnerabilities such as child labour, child begging, missing child and runaway child, as per JJ Act 2015. DDC Aamina Majeed, Assistant Labour Commissioner Kupwara Arshid Ahmad and Resource person Syed mujtaba highlighted various issues related to child rights. The certificates of participation and mementos were also distributed to acknowledge the active involvement of the participants in the programme.
