An Indian-origin techie named Anand Sujith Henry is suspected of killing his wife and four-year-old twins before shooting himself in a gruesome murder-suicide in California, police said. San Mateo police found the bodies on February 12 at around 9:15 am, two days after the incident took place.
According to the police, Henry, a former Meta engineer, appears to be the accused in the murder of his wife, Alice Benziger, and their two minor sons.
Initial investigation found that Benziger succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds, while Henry died from a single shot. “The cause of death for the minor boys is still pending pathology, but we can confirm they did not die from gunfire or show signs of bodily trauma,” the statement said.
Who is Anand Sujith Henry?
As per The Daily Mail, Henry served as a software engineering manager at Meta and Google for a year and a half and eight years respectively. Henry founded his own AI company after leaving Meta last June. Henry’s firm reportedly provided services to enterprises to “privately train and serve Generative AI models” for their particular business needs.
Henry also lived in New York City and was a member of Toastmasters, a non-profit that trains people in public speaking.
The couple were both alumni of TKM Engineering College in Kerala. The couple moved to the US in 2018 to pursue their masters at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. According to official records, years before the birth of their twin sons, the couple had filed for divorce in December 2016.
A lawyer who managed the 2016 divorce told DailyMail.com that the couple split at the time due to ‘irreconcilable differences’ and that there were never any allegations of abuse.
