CUJ students gets hands-on training in latest CGH microarrays technologies

Centre for Molecular Biology (CMB), Central University of Jammu: Post Graduation students namely Aditri Dixit, Shalini Rai and Abhishek Kumar, attended a 2-day hands on training session on CGH Microarray analysis, organised by Agilent Technologies Inc, a multinational organization that specializes in scientific, diagnostics, and application markets. The workshop was held on at one of the company’s facilities in Manesar, Haryana and was aimed to motivate and assist trainees in developing novel technologies and undertaking research initiatives to tackle national health issues. The workshop showcased practical training on array based comparative genomic hybridization technologies and its application in Cytogenomics. The curriculum gave the students’ knowledge and hands-on experience with the technology.
The students attended the event in the ongoing efforts of Centre for Molecular Biology to provide scientific exposure of International standards to the students through various reach out programmes.
Centre for Molecular Biology in CUJ runs M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Biotechnology programme and is supported by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.
Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor Central University Jammu appreciated the efforts of Director CMB, Dr.Swarkar Sharma, in facilitating students and Agilent Technologies Inc., for providing their students opportunity to gain insight and hands-on training in the latest technologies.
