Sheetal Nanda spearheads public darbar at Samba Fort; Emphasizes time bound redressal of public issues

Commissioner Secretary, Social Welfare, Sheetal Nanda, spearheaded a public darbar at Samba Fort to facilitate direct communication with the local community for resolving their issues and concerns.
The event witnessed the locals actively participating and projecting their developmental issues while seeking speedy redressal of the same.
The delegations, comprising former BDC members, former PRIs, social workers and community representatives, presented a memorandum of demands and grievances, covering a wide range of developmental and infrastructural issues concerning their respective areas.
The issues inter alia included repair of building in Rakh-Ambtali Panchayat, illegal mining, adequate water supply, timely release of land compensation in Chak Jhangi and shortage of linemen and sweepers besides immediate provisioning of tents during rainy season, improved road connectivity in Sumb Block particularly in Goran and Karad areas, installation of transformers in Ghagwal, desilting of canals and upgradation of healthcare facilities in PHC Sumb, Sangwali Mandi, development of Goran as tourist spot and measures to control the burgeoning stray animal population.
Besides, issues like road construction in Ward 6 Kheri Mandi, construction of road over bridge in Gurha Slathia, parking facilities in Vijaypur, nallah construction in Ward 2 and 11 of Kehli mandi and establishment of essential services such as veterinary offices in Daini area, animal shelters and controlling the drug menace and bovine smuggling in the district. In response to the public concerns, Sheetal Nanda issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned officials to ensure a time bound approach towards resolving public issues. She stated that all the genuine demands will be projected to the concerned departments and assured the public of timely resolution of their demands. Later, the Commissioner Secretary distributed Babycare kits among the newborn girl children.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Vinay Kumar Sharma, Additional District Development Commissioner, Rajinder Singh, PO ICDS, Dr Subhash, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Suresh Chander Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Kusum Chib, Sub Divisional Magistrate Ghagwal, Sunaina Saini and other senior officers of district administration were present on the occasion.
