A meeting of District Congress Committee Jammu Urban was held here today at PCC HQ Jammu to take stock of the preparations for the upcoming Parliament elections besides discussing the burning issues of the people. The meeting was chaired by PCC Working President Shri Raman Bhalla.
The meeting was organized by District Congress Committee Jammu Urban led by Th. Manmohan Singh and attended by Senior leaders of PCC, DCC, Block &s Ward Presidents, Frontal Organizations heads and others. Prominent among them include PCC Vice Presidents Yogesh Sawhney (Ex-Minister), Shri Naresh Gupta (EX-MLC & AICC Coordinator for Jammu Parliamentary Seat), Ved Mahajan (Ex-MLC), Rajnish Sharma (Treasurer), Pranav Shagotra, PCC General Secretaries Narinder Gupta (Org), Suresh Dogra, Thomas Khokhar, Amrit Bali, Satish Sharma, Seva Dal Chief Vijay Sharma. Jyoti Vaid, Michael Wazir, Dr. RK Khajuria, Latis Sharma, Ricky Dalotra, S.P Sapolia, Atul Sharma, Chander Shekhar, Pawan Sharma, Sanjeev Katal, Anil Kumar, Darshan Verma, Nageshwar, Sunil Sharma, Yash Sangral, Ashwani Sethi, Gharu Ram, Ram Magotra, Sushan Gupta, Dewan Chand, Manjeet Singh Bedi, Balderv Sigh Wazir, Balwinder Singh Rinlu, Anoop Gupta, Farooq Ahmed, and others.
The meeting took stock of the preparations for the Parliament elections and asked the party cadres to gear up for these elections and defeat the anti people anti youth, anti students, anti farmers, BJP regime. The party sought input from block and Ward presidents regarding the activities of the party.
Raman Bhalla lashed out at those parties who have been exploiting the sentiments of the people on various emotional issues for vote bank politics but utterly failed to deliver. He asked the party functionaries to make aware the people of the communal agenda of BJP and defeat the nefarious designs of communal, divisive and separatist forces. He complimented the people of Jammu region for believing in togetherness and religious harmony despite grave provocations by vested interests
He said that BJP Govt. in its more than 9 years rule under the prime minister ship of Shri Narinder Modi has ruined the country in every field. Every section of the society is suffering due to its wrong policies and wrong decisions. The people of Jammu and Kashmir are the most sufferers. The Modi Govt. has snatched the right of jobs and land from the people of J&K by downgrading a full-fledged state into Union Territory. The property tax, toll plazas, smart meters, unemployment has added more in the miseries of people of Jammu and Kashmir, Bhalla added.
Raman Bhalla said that unemployment is increasing day by day. Govt. advertizes jobs, Sell application forms by charging heavy fee and then cancel these jobs on reasons. In this process many youth have become over aged and frustrated for their future. The people, especially youth will certainly ask the local leaders of BJP , what they have done for them.
Shri Naresh Gupta in his address criticized BJP leadership for ignoring and neglecting the mandate of Jammu who remained as mute spectators for the sake of power. The people are deeply hurt over attitude of BJP leaders in the Govt. but unfortunately the people are exploited in the name of religion and castes. Such a divisive politics is dangerous for the state and nation. He asked the leaders and activists of Jammu Urban to fan out in their areas and educate the masses about the failures of BJP Govt. at the Centre and State.
Th. Manmohan Singh stressed upon the need to counter the false propaganda of BJP claiming to be champions of Jammu for last seven decades but miserably failed when they got huge mandate on falsehood and unachievable slogans. BJP stands exposed totally and it can no longer befool the masses of Jammu region. The people must reject all opportunists and exploitative politics in coming elections, he added.
