Khatana calls on Union Home Minister Amit Shah

Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Gulam Ali Khatana on Thursday met Union Home Minister, Amit Shah at national capital New Delhi.
Khatana briefed the Home Minister Amit Shah about the current situation in Jammu and Kashmir and updated him regarding ongoing campaigns for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The Rajya Sabha MP informed the Union Home Minister about his back to back meetings with tribal youth and others and said that there is a good feedback in favour of BJP in upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
“BJP will win all the five Lok Sabha seats from J&K and the one seat from Ladakh Union Territory,” he said and thanked the HM for restoring peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
Khatana said that incidents of terrorism in J&K have come down after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A.
“This year Kashmir witnessed record number of tourists as peace prevails in the valley under the leadership of PM Modi,” the Rajya Sabha member told Amit Shah.
He said that some vested interests are misguiding the people of Rajouri-Poonch area to disturb the peace.
“I appeal to the people of Rajouri-Poonch area to maintain peace and brotherhood as the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah has announced on the floor of the Parliament that reservation to tribal Gujjars and Bakerwals will in no way be affected due to the reservation to Paharis,” Khatana maintained adding: “Rajouri-Poonch area has seen record developments under the leadership of PM Modi.”
He said that tunnel between Chowki Chora and Bhamla and another tunnel in Nowshera area are being constructed to facilitate the people of Rajouri-Poonch areas and these tunnels will reduce the travel time from Jammu to Rajouri.
