Sreesanth is celebrating his 41st birthday today. The Kerala-born pacer was born on February 6 in 1983.
The fast bowler could have had a long cicket career if he had stayed away from controversies, including the Spot-fixing scandal. In this story, we discuss some of the controversies and fight Sreesanth has been part of.
In Legends League Cricket 2022, Sreesanth had a fight with Gautam Gambhir. The onfield spat extended to social media when Sreesanth posted a video, accusing Gambhir of calling him a ‘spot fixer’. Gambhir had refused to make a comment on those matters.
Sreesanth’s cricket career came to a halt due to his involvement in the 2013 IPL spot-fixing scandal, which resulted in a lifetime ban imposed by the BCCI.
However, this ban was eventually lifted after legal proceedings, with the Supreme Court removing all sanctions against him.
Despite this, Sreesanth was unable to resume playing cricket until this year, when he made a comeback to first-class cricket after a hiatus of nine years.
During India’s 2007 tour of England, Sreesanth, provoked by Kevin Pietersen, delivered a dangerous beamer aimed at the batsman, causing alarm.
Sreesanth promptly apologized for the delivery, yet numerous experts, including former cricketer and analyst Michael Atherton, argued that he should have faced a one-match ban for such a potentially harmful delivery.

Atherton expressed skepticism regarding the incident being accidental, indicating concerns about the intention behind Sreesanth’s action.
