DOGRA HERALD BUREAU
JAMMU, Jan 31
Soon after integration of Jammu, Kashmir into the rest of India in the year 2019 after abrogation of article 370, we victim displaced Kashmiri Pandits were expecting that we will enjoy equal protection under the law and all the rights given to other Indian citizens, and have access to better educational and economic opportunities and were also expecting to get our long standing issues addressed and demands fulfilled. We were expecting that stable security environment and conditions would be created for the rehabilitation for we displaced Kashmiri Pandits, who are socially and economically marginalized minorities by Government policies and others, and thousands of whom still live in dirty and unpleasant camps and rented residences after being ethnically cleansed from the Kashmir Valley in 1989-1990. The present Condition of these victim displaced Kashmiri Pandit families, who are residing at Jammu, Delhi ,NCR, Pune, Banglore and other parts of the country, continue to be worst , neglected and ignored., passing through difficult times and tough period in displacement, we Kashmiri Pandits continue to be systematically disenfranchised and deprived of a political voice for very very long time, and continue to lost our rights to properties, we left behind after our forced exodus and ethnic cleansings, still it is very difficult to take back our land and properties from encroachers ,land mafia and goons in the valley, despite having presently direct center rule in Jammu and Kashmir.
The socio-economic conditions facing displaced Pandits in both camp and non-camp areas of Jammu and other places is mesiriable and worst one, facing with terrible and terrific health problems, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, and jaundice, heart problems, kidney and othe problems . KP community youth suffer for lack employment opportunities, and financial hardships while the children face difficulties to accessing the better schools and all victim families residing in camps and non camps are facing with huge financial crunch as they have no income other than meager assistance of rupees three thousand five hundred per month. The threat for the lives of our employees including PM package and others in valley continue, their life is unsecured and conditions uncertain. Kashmiri Pandit organizattions and leaders , in particular KPC have been constantly taking and demanding for rehabilitation plans ,but government ,judiciary, executive failed all the times and refusing to listen.
.Although the central government has provided a meager financial assistance to 30-35 percent of non — income displaced KP families, who have lost their business, huge land ,orchards and other properties in valley, some employment quota of forty-four thousand jobs out of six thousand jobs were provided to the displaced Kashmiri Pandits in valley ,against around twenty thousand jobs KP,s left during the turmoil in valley.
Around twenty thousand houses were burnt and destroyed, around 400 temples were burnt and damaged, around more than a thousand of innocent KP,s were killed massacreed and chopped in saw mills. Unfortunately despite of this all we still face several challenges, including inhumane camp conditions and difficulty in finding employment opportunities, most of displaced KP,s are residing in rented accommodations at Delhi,Jammu and other places in country. In camps they lack adequate facilities and basic necessities. There is no regular supply of clean drinking water, a shortage of medicine,Power shortage cuts and poor sanitation. As a result of the substandard conditions, many Kashmiri Pandits have serious health problems, including high incidence of disease, psychological traumas, stress-related problems, and a high death rate.Similiar is condition of victim KP,s residing in non camps on rent ,facing with other huge problems. It is the same vibrant community of Kashmiri Pandits, and have a unique ethno-religious culture that dates back more than 5,000 years and was ruling Kashmir till 1439 untill 14 th century when Islamic invaders entered in the valley. Now around 34 years have gone to violent terrorist movement / violence in the Kashmir Valley, the security and safety of Kashmiri Pandits remains a concern. No doubt there has been a drastic decline in militant violence following the abrogation of Article 370, in valley, but still terrorists and their masters are unwilling to give up its policy of utilizing terror groups to foment violence in Kashmir valley as well as Kashmir is on international radar in particular eye sore in the eyes of Islamic countries as well as together Pakistan and China,,so,violence will continue in the Union Territory of Jammu for the foreseeable future.

Hence under all these circumstances return of Kashmiri Pandits is impossible to their previous locations and so rehabilitate them at ,” 0NE PLACE” in valley in need of the hour and long pending demand of Displaced Kashmiri Pandits.Besides ,
displaced Kashmiri Pandits who are residing in camps and no camps in Jammu, Delhi,NCR, Pune, Banglore and other places are facing economic, political, and social marginalization. Additionally, many Hindu shrines and temples in the Valley remain unprotected, many of which have been illegally encroached upon or have fallen into disrepair., needs to be taken care of.
At the conclude we request for an ordiance ( meeting) with Hounrable Prime Minister of India of KP community leadership at the earliest to get our demands fulfilled and mitigate our problems.
