A one-day workshop cum awareness programme on centrally sponsored “Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME)” was today held at Area Marketing Office Srinagar F&V Market Parimpora Srinagar.
The workshop organized by Area Marketing Officer, District Nodal Officer PMFME scheme district Srinagar, was attended by Bakery Unit Holders of the area, educated unemployed youth, progressive farmers entrepreneurs interested in upgrading their existing units/setting up of new units etc. The awareness camp was also attended by the members of (DLSC) of the PMFME scheme.
The Chief Horticulture Officer Srinagar deliberated upon the schemes pertaining to the Horticulture Sector in detail.
The DNO presented a detailed overview of the Micro-food Processing Sector in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir and the need to integrate the existing unorganized Micro-food Processing Units of the district.
In order to accomplish the objective of self-reliant India (Atma Nirbhar Bharat), the DNO apprised that the Ministry of Food Processing Industries launched the PMFME scheme to provide financial, technical and marketing support to upgrade the existing micro-food processing units/ establish new units thereby integrate around 2 lac micro-food processing enterprises in the unorganized sector with formal supply chain.
The different requirements/formalities of the project under the said scheme like financial assistance, technical knowledge, preparation of DPRS were discussed in threadbare with the participants.
The educated unemployed youth were urged to set up their own micro-food processing units and avail credit linked subsidy of 35% of the eligible project cost with a maximum ceiling of Rs 10 lac per unit and interest subvention of 3% available under the scheme.
The District Resource Person PMFME scheme Srinagar requested the interested applicants to contact him for assistance in the submission of application, DPR preparation, follow up of cases at bank level etc.
In the end on spot assistance was provided to the beneficiaries to register them under the scheme. All other experts from allied departments also delivered lectures on the PMFME scheme. The awareness camp was concluded by vote of thanks by the District Nodal Officer.
