Modi Govt prioritizes rural growth, infrastructure development: Col Mahan

Col Mahan Singh (Retd.), DDC Chairman Kathua, emphasized that the BJP Government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is dedicated to fostering rural growth and advancing infrastructure development, underscoring its commitment to rural progress.
The DDC Chairman made these remarks during the inauguration ceremony of the 3-kilometer road from Dharamkot-Malti road to Govt Nursing College via Chirda, executed under Project NABARD. Accompanying him was DDC Member Neeru Bala Rajput.
The project, estimated at Rs 6.64 Crore, will be overseen by the PWD (R&B) Department Billawar Division and is anticipated to benefit over 20,000 residents in the isolated area falling under DDC Constituency Mandl in District Kathua. Present at the ceremony were AEE Billawar Er Jagmohan, along with his team, Subedar Deewan Chand, Zahir Khan, Onkar Chand Tobria, and others, including women and youth.
During his address, the DDC Chairman highlighted the unprecedented development undertaken during the Modi regime, emphasizing the uncompromising stance on quality and timely completion of projects. He emphasized that infrastructure and rural development are key priorities, with the Modi Government implementing comprehensive measures for the holistic progress of remote villages, ensuring that residents enjoy the same benefits as their urban counterparts.
Col Mahan also acknowledged the developmental initiatives of the BJP Government in Kathua District, particularly in Billawar Sub-District. He expressed gratitude to PM Modi, Dr Jitendra Singh MOS PMO, and LG Manoj Sinha for allocating funds for rural infrastructure in far-flung areas like Malti.
During the visit, the DDC Chairman addressed the concerns of local residents, primarily related to road connectivity, drinking water shortage, electricity scarcity, school infrastructure, and healthcare-related issues. He patiently listened to the problems and assured the residents that solutions would be prioritized.
Additionally, the DDC Chairman visited the local Govt Middle School and the newly constructed building of the Nursing College at Garh Malti Panchayat. He also met veteran leader Sanjiv Khajuria, who recently joined the BJP, acknowledging his decision to strengthen the saffron party after a 25-year association with the National Conference.
Col Mahan congratulated him for his wise decision and asked him to work for welfare of people of the area.
