Rich tributes were paid to father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi on his martyrdom in a function held at PCC HQ Shaheedi Chowk Jammu.
Working President JKPCC Shri Raman Bhalla (former Minister) presided over the function and was attend by Sr. Vice President & Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, Shri Vinod Sharma-PCC Vice President Incharge HQ, Mr. Narinder Gupta General Secretary (Org), Mr. Narinder Sharma-General Secretary, Thomas Khokhar- General Secretary, Th. Manmohan Singh- DCC President Jammu (Urban), DCC President Ramban Pervez Ahmed Wani, Secretaries Sahil Sharma, Bhavishya Sudan, Michael Wazir, Sdr. A.S. Lucky, Sandeep Dogra, Ricky Dalotra -Incharge Office PYC, DCC functionaries Dr. R. K. Khajuria, Chander Shekhar Sharma, Atul Sharma, Janak Raj Mehra, Varinder Manhas and others.
Speaking on the occasion Shri Raman Bhalla paid rich tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and remembered the great contribution of father of nation who led the freedom movement of the country and achieved it through non violence means. His philosophy of non violence, peace and brotherhood is becoming more relevant with every passing day as the entire World looks towards Mahatma Gandhi for guidance. He cautioned the people against the communal and divisive forces who are bent upon to divide the society for their vested interest which goes against basic principle and ideology of Mahatma Gandhi who preached patience and religious tolerance which is fundamental to the security and integrity of the nation.
He cautioned the people and the party workers about the attempt to torpedo the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi by certain forces who glorify his killer and said that such a path is a threat to the secular fabric of this nation, as secularism is the basic strength of our pluralistic society.
Ravinder Sharma in his address said that the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi is becoming more relevant with every passing day. The entire World tries to learn a lesson from his life and principles. His philosophy holds the key to peace and religious harmony in the World. He taught non-violence and tolerance to deal with all issues confronting the humanity. The countrymen should follow his principles to have peace & harmony.
