DC Rajouri approves 180 cases under PMVKSY, empowering Artisans across multiple trades

Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat on Monday presided over a meeting to review the implementation of the flagship “PM Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana” in the district, a visionary scheme designed to uplift and empower traditional artisans.
The PM Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana holds immense significance in preserving and nurturing India’s rich cultural heritage of traditional craftsmanship, providing crucial financial support to artisans and enabling them to pass on their age-old skills to future generations. Under this transformative initiative, eligible artisans are granted financial assistance, technical training, and exposure to modern markets, thus ensuring the preservation of their livelihoods and our cultural heritage. After a thorough scrutiny of the applications presented in the meeting, the DC approved 180 cases under the PM Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana. These cases represent a diverse range of trades. The selection of beneficiaries has been meticulously carried out to ensure that deserving artisans from different backgrounds and trades receive the support they need to thrive.
The approval of these 180 cases is a testament to the commitment and dedication of District Administration towards empowering artisans in the Rajouri district. The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Khurshid; General Manager DIC, Ashwini Sharma; Lead District Manager JK Bank, Sanjeev Bhasin; Principal ITI Rajouri, Ujhwal Mahajan; Project Officer DIC, Abid Hussain and other concerned officers.
