CUJ holds inaugural program on Ten Day Research Methodology Course on Bharat Centric Research

The inaugural program for ICSSR New Delhi sponsored Ten-Day Research Methodology course on Bharat Centric Research in Social Sciences: Emerging Designs and Approaches was held at Central University of Jammu, on January 29, 2024, with Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Central University of Jammu as the chief guest, Prof. Yashwant Singh, Registrar, CUJ as special guest of honour, Prof. J.N. Baliya as Course Director, and Prof. Asit Mantry as HoD, CUJ.
In his address, Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice chancellor, Central university of jammu said that what are the reasons behind the BCR in social sciences as this enables the actual scientific implementation in social context. He also gave an insight that there is an immense scope of research in Indian Knowledge context in different fields and subjects.
Prof. Jain elaborated that there should be the adequate ethical values among the researchers as there are immense tools and applications in Artificial Intelligence.
Earlier to this, Prof. J.N. Baliya, Course Director, Department of Educational Studies & has, in his welcome address, briefly described the objectives and schedule of the Ten Days Research Methodology Course on Bharat Centric Research in Social Sciences. He said that this course has been attended by participants from different states of the country.
Dr. Baliya further elaborated that the purpose of research methodology courses is to provide researchers with theoretical and practical knowledge of research frameworks as per the needs and requirements of Indian Society, hence improving their ability to produce significant and influential research outputs in relevant fields.
Central University of Jammu hopes to demonstrate to social science researchers through this Bharat Centric RMC, the breadth of opportunities available for them to advance their practical knowledge of research methodology, qualitative data analysis, and quantitative data analysis abilities utilizing statistical software.
Later on, Prof. Asit K. Mantry, Head, Department of Educational Studies, in his remarks exclaimed that there is dire need to emphasis on Bharat Centric Research as Bharat did not have that goal to be a superpower rather wanted to become Viswa Guru. He further exclaimed that Guru is that person which would help others to grow and develop further without any biases and expectations. Dr. Mantry also described the requirement for all the senses to be involved in the learning so that adequate skills and Knowledge. There are five main components on which there is need to research: Environment, Family, Self-Awareness, Societal Issues, and national issues.
Afterwards Prof. Yashwant Singh, Registrar, Central University of Jammu, in his special guest remarks said that choosing Bharat Centric research means selecting and identifying the problems in Bhartiya context so that we will have the solution for further progress and development in the society. He also appealed to the participants to learn in these ten days how to identify, select and analyse the problem in Indian Context so that we will lead the society and nation as whole in future.
Dr. Aman, Course Co-Director, gave the formal vote of thanks to all the dignitaries, participants and organising team for making this event happen.
Later on, in the second technical session, an interactive was done for the reflections and brainstorming among the participants. Whereas in the last session, Prof. J.N. Baliya deliberated his talk on the Emerging Trends in Research Proposals. Earlier the Co-organising Secretary of the event Dr. Seema Rani Thappa, Faculty from Nagaland University deliberated upon the structure of the Research Methodology Course. The other faculty members who attended the inaugural sessions are Prof. Ritu Bakshi, Dr. Kiran, Dr. Ravi Vanguri, Dr. Yad Ram, Dr. Mohan, Dr. Anil, Dr. Aarushi, Mr. Arvind, Ms. Shivali and Deans and Faculty of other departments.
