NEP playing pivotal role in promoting local languages, prioritizing skill education: Col Mahan

Col Mahan Singh, DDC Chairman Kathua, today underscored the remarkable impact of the New Education Policy (NEP) implemented by the Modi government across the country. He emphasized the NEP’s pivotal role in promoting local languages and prioritizing skill education, marking a transformative shift in the education paradigm.
The DDC Chairman Kathua was speaking at the Annual Day Function of Saraswati Academy High Secondary School Banhore in Mahanpur Tehsil of District Kathua.
Commending the progressive vision of the Modi government, Col Mahan lauded the NEP’s commitment in preserving and promoting local languages. He highlighted the policy’s recognition of the linguistic diversity of India, asserting that embracing local languages in the education system not only preserves cultural heritage but also facilitates a more inclusive and accessible learning environment. Furthermore, the DDC Chairman emphasized the NEP’s significant focus on skill education. Acknowledging the importance of practical skills in today’s competitive world, Col Mahan commended the policy for integrating skill development into the mainstream curriculum. The emphasis on imparting practical skills alongside academic knowledge ensures that students are well-equipped for real-world challenges and opportunities, he added.
The DDC Chairman reiterated the government’s commitment in advancing the goals of the NEP, particularly in promoting local languages and imparting skill education, thereby contributing to a more holistic and inclusive educational system.
Earlier, the Annual Day Function of Saraswati Academy High Secondary School Banhore was celebrated with great enthusiasm and colourful manner. The children performed to the best of their talent and displayed local culture and patriotic zeal through the 3 hours long programme.
Col Mahan Singh, who was the Chief Guest, appreciated the mind blowing performance by children and efforts being made by the School to sharpen their skills and knowledge. He was accompanied by Th. Darshan Singh, Swarna Badial, Bansi Lal Balalia and scores of other prominent residents of the region.
