Dogra Law College organizes awareness workshop on National Girl Child Day

The NSS Unit, in collaboration with Dogra Law College’s Legal Aid Clinic, took great pride in hosting a one-day awareness workshop on National Girl Child Day. The central goal of the event was to illuminate the importance of empowering and safeguarding the girl child, fostering a society that recognizes and nurtures the potential of every girl. The program commenced with a warm welcome address from Shazia Kousar, a faculty member at Dogra Law College. Opening with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and ignorance, the event emphasized the commitment to promoting a brighter future for every girl. The distinguished guest, Sanyam Pandoh, was honored with the presentation of a sapling, symbolizing growth, resilience, and the responsibility towards nurturing society.
The workshop aimed to create a ripple effect of awareness, inspiring attendees to become advocates for change within their communities. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister and Chairman of Dogra Educational Trust; Dr. Avdhesh Pratap, Principal of Dogra Law College; and Sanyam Pandoh, a renowned social media influencer dedicated to advocating social causes. Sanyam Pandoh’s insights added a valuable perspective to the discussions on the crucial role society plays in ensuring the well-being and development of girl children.
The program, designed to be engaging and impactful, featured a variety of activities, including skits, dances, songs, and paper presentations. These diverse elements aimed to captivate the audience while delivering powerful messages on the importance of saving the girl child and promoting gender equality.
Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, a philanthropist dedicated to the well-being of society, emphasized in his presidential remarks that education is the cornerstone of empowerment. He stressed on our collective responsibility to dismantle barriers that hinder access to quality education for girls, highlighting the need to create a society where every girl can grow up without the fear of being held back by outdated norms and practices.
Dogra Law College and its NSS Unit remain steadfast in their commitment to contributing to the larger movement of building a society where every girl child is given the opportunity to thrive. The program concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Dhanyata, a student of B.A LL.B 5 Years 9th Semester.
