An information was received at PS Gangyal regarding one notorious drug peddler, namely Jatinder Singh alias Lamba Sonu, son of Bhupinder Singh, resident of Model Town Digiana Camp, Jammu, who was absconding from his arrest. In response, a special police team of PS Gangyal, led by Insp. Jaswinder Singh, SHO PS Gangyal, exerted strenuous efforts and finally arrested the above-mentioned absconder.
It is pertinent to mention here that a warrant of arrest under PITNDPS 05 of 2024, dated 20-01-2024, U/S 03 of the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substance Act 1988 was also issued against the accused. The said accused was habitual in indulging in the crime of drug consumption and drug trafficking, luring the young generation into the menace of drug addiction. Various raids were conducted at different locations by Jammu Police, and with the help of strenuous efforts, the accused was finally arrested.
Details of the various cases the accused was involved in are as follows: FIR No. 06/2018 u/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act and FIR No. 16/2023 u/s 8/21/22/25/29 NDPS Act. The accused criminal was creating a nuisance in society, and his arrest has provided a sigh of relief to the general public. People have appreciated the efforts of Jammu Police. Finally, today the warrant was executed, and the accused was sent to District Jail Kathua.
