Managing Director Sarovar Hotels & Resorts Ajay Kumar Bakaya, a company which has more than 110 hotels at 67 destination all over India and abroad, and has 4 hotels in J&K itself, with two at Srinagar and one each at Katra and Jammu respectively,with brands like Sarovar Premier,Sarovar Portico,Hometel,Golden Tulip etc.visits Food Crafts Institute,Jagti,Jammu alongwith Rakesh Wazir, President Hotel & Restaurant Association,Katra and member of the Governing body of FCI and interacted with the students of the institute.
Jyoti Bhatti Principal of the institute received the guests in the institute and showed them the Institute facilities,besides appraising of the main activities undertaken.
Mr.Bakaya took a round of the complex and appreciated the facilities in the Government institute including. He enquired about diploma courses of different trades of Hotel Management in the Institute. While interacting with the students Mr. Bakaya laid the thrust on practical exposure being given to the students during the course of training in the institute.
He emphasized that inspite of technological advancement, the timeless significance of proficient general management skills could never be underestimated.
On another platform, he declared, “In this industry, the true arbiters of success remain astute and efficient General Managers who continue to navigate this industry with poise and grace, regardless of the digital tsunami that has swept over us.”
He briefed the students about the vibrant picture of India’s Hospitality industry and demand of our skilled man power in international level.
He further said that Sarovar will try its level best to absorb good talent from the institute.
Wazir, while addressing the gathering of students, appreciated the efforts being put in by the institute towards skilling of youth in the hospitality sector. He laid stress on quality of trained manpower which is in demand in the ever increasing tourism scenario in the region. He said that Hotel Industry is a good Industry to work with and has got lot of employment opportunities in it and J&K with good Tourism potential and with a strong Tourism back ground can prove to be a boon for the younger generation in providing of employment to them.
He said that there is dire need of trained man power and hope this institute will fill that gap.
Rakesh Wazir & Mr. Ajay K.Bakaya assured the students for their full support in their industrial training and placements in the industry as industry always welcome the trained man power with open arms. Sky is the limit for the trained professionals in the hospitality sector as there is always ever growing demand in the hospitality industry in view of upcoming of various hotels in the country and asked the management of the institute for exploring Campus placements process more often so that Industry giants could recruit the students form campus itself.
Jyoti Bhatti, Principal of the institute apprised about the curriculum and practical aspects being undertaken by the students in the institute as per the curriculum and syllabus designed by National council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) Ministry of Tourism Govt. of India and showed the College to the dignitaries and thanked them for making it a point to come to the institute.
