The NSS unit of MIER College of Education organised a compelling essay writing competition on January 12, 2024, commemorating National Youth Day. The event focused on the topic ‘Relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s Philosophy in Present Times.’
Esteemed dignitaries, including Professor Adit Gupta, Director and Principal, Prof.Nishta Rana, Head of School of Education, and Dr. Monika Bajaj, Head of School of Social Sciences and Humanities, along with faculty members, graced the occasion.
Ms. HitakshiBakshi, a student of B.Ed. Semester 1, welcomed guests and participants, shedding light on the significance of National Youth Day.
Participants were given the platform to articulate their perspectives on Swami Vivekananda’s enduring philosophy. The essays fostered the continued relevance of Vivekananda’s teachings in modern society, emphasizing self-realization, tolerance, and social service.
The judging panel, comprising Dr.ReetaDwivedi, Dr.BinduDua, and Mrs. Suman Devi, Assistant Professors of MIER College of Education, evaluated entries based on content, organization, vocabulary, language, and relevance to the theme. The competition not only deepened understanding but also sparked meaningful discussions on applying Vivekananda’s teachings in daily life.
Winners were announced, with HitakshiBakshi , B.Ed. Semester 1 and Sukriti Sharma B.A. (Hons.) in Political Science Semester 3 securing the first position. AlmitaKatoch secured the second rank, and AvinabBadyal clinched the third position. Dr.Adit Gupta commended the NSS unit for organizing a thought-provoking competition, enriching students with Vivekananda’s principles.
Ms. Aashiya of B.Ed. Semester 1 presented a formal vote of thanks, acknowledging the successful organization of the competition by Dr.Komal Sharma, Programme Officer, NSS, and Ms. SonikaKumari, Member, NSS. The event concluded with inspiring insights and a renewed commitment to Swami Vivekananda’s ideals.
