Locals thank BRO for construction, Macademization of Bhadarwah Pathankot National Highway

The Border Road Organisation (BRO) has constructed Bhadarwah Pathankot National Highway having a length of about 35 km from Bhadarwah town to Chattergalla.
The nearby areas consist of tribal and local population in villages like Puneja, Sungli, Nalthi, Basti, Thanthera and Guldanda.
According to the BRO, with the construction of this stretch of road, medical facilities have become easily available and in event of emergency conditions, ambulances and Fire Brigade Vehicles are reaching their destinations on time. School and college students are reaching the schools easily from these areas.
After the construction of this road in areas falling in Bhadarwah region, people have started small business shops, restaurants and hotels on roadsides and maximum number of labourers from different rural areas are getting employment under BRO who were earlier looking for jobs.
People living in these areas have thanked the Government of India and BRO for the development of these areas of beautiful Bhadarwah valley by way of construction and development of this much required interstate road link on modern lines.
Mohammad Salim Butt a social activist and local of Bhadarwah said, “When this road was not there, people had to walk 10 to 30 kms and patients had to suffer a lot to reach the hospitals to get emergency treatment, but after the development of this road, it has become very easy for them to reach hospitals.
This road is squarely significant both from the civil transport as well as defence point of view”. “People of Bhadarwah extend their gratitude to the Commander 35 BRTF Udhampur S.K Verma and Officer Commanding 118 RCC based at Bhadarwah for their relentless efforts to make this project dream come true,” Butt further claimed.
“We thank the Government and BRO for this, we can do our business now. We have got multifariously benefited after the construction of this interstate road.
This is an area replete with magnificent attractive tourist spots and places being important for adventure tourism. This road is very beneficial for our children and for all of us,” Zaffar Hussain Wani, a local social activist said. He also added that the marvellous work rendered by BRO in macademising with the construction of side drains has increased the longevity of this road to greater extent.
Famous tourist destination of Thanthera and Guldanda also lie on this road which as of now remain abuzz with thousands of tourists round the clock. Recently, a Tourism Festival with the designation as was held at Guldanda which was attended by more than two lakh tourists both domestic and foreign.
The tourism activity is attributed to have got boost vis a vis local tourist industry including tour and travel operations and hoteliers in which Bhadarwah Pathankot National Highway has played a key role. Tourists are all praise for the smooth and tireless engineering structure of this road.
“I am from Patna Bihar and have come to Guldanda along with my family to see snow. I was afraid that the tourist places are present in dangerous geographical locations which would be inaccessible, but we have got surprised to see such a gorgeous and comfortable road connectivity provided by BRO, I wish them the best,” Alok Sehgal a tourist from Patna Bihar told.
Another tourist from Jammu Dr. Sushma said, ” The tourist spots are better than Kashmir, but they have remained away from the glimpse of the outside world in the past obviously because of poor connectivity, but the breathtaking works of BRO in connecting important tourist destinations on Bhadarwah Pathankot circuit through National Highway has given boost to tourism industry. “Many many salutes to this road building organisation for creating Marvel’s,” she further exclaimed. Presently, Bhadarwah, Bani, Basoli Pathankot National Highway is manned by 118 RCC based at Bhadarwah under 35 BRTF Udhampur. The work of the construction and subsequent Macademization processes have been completed up to Chattergalla Pass bordering Doda district with Kathua district about 35 Kilometres from Bhadarwah township.
