DC Samba reviews preparations for R-Day celebrations

Deputy Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma visited Rani Suchet Singh Stadium, Arazi, Samba today to take an on-site review of the arrangements to be put in place by the respective departments on the eve of Republic Day-2024. He held comprehensive discussions with the officers to finalize the arrangements for the upcoming celebrations. The Deputy Commissioner, along with the officers, went around the stadium pavilions to have a first-hand appraisal of the preparatory activities. The DC was given an appraisal about the preparations and arrangements being made with regard to seating arrangements, cultural programmes, march past parade, power supply, deployment of medical and first aid and firefighting system, installation of PAS, Jhanki Tableau,media management, security related matters and entry of VVIPs, VIPs and other participants. During the visit, the DC reviewed the parade contingent. The DC also stressed on making elaborate arrangements to tackle issues, if any, caused due to rain on the occasion of full dress rehearsal proceedings and the main event on Jan. 26.
Regarding parking for vehicles, the DC asked the officers of the traffic department to assess the capacity of the parking slots identified for the event and formulate a plan so that the maximum number of vehicles of the dignitaries and other participants coming to attend the function are accommodated in a hassle-free manner. Key points of discussion included traffic arrangements, with Police Department and ARTO were tasked to ensure the smooth flow of vehicles and deploy ample manpower for effective traffic management in and around the venue.
The DC was also given a brief about the security arrangements in and around the stadium to ensure hassle-free celebrations of the function. Assistant Commissioner Development, Floriculture and PWD were assigned to oversee the decoration arrangements, while Chief Planning Officer and Chief Education Officer Samba were entrusted with ensuring the proper preparation of cultural items. The Chief Executive Officer of the Municipal Council was given responsibilities to inspect and maintain cleanliness at the venue. The role of photography and videography was designated to the District Information Officer.
Notable attendees at the meeting included SSP Samba Benam Tosh, ADC Samba Suresh Chander Sharma, ASP Samba Surinder Chaodhary, ACR Samba Kusum Chib and all concerned officers of District Administration Samba.
