Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit has demanded that January 22 be declared a public holiday and instructions should be issued to keep liquor and meat shops closed on this holy day.
On this auspicious occasion, Shiv Sena gave an open invitation for worship at Kalaram Temple in Nashik and Maha Aarti on the banks of Godavari in Nasik of Maharashtra.
In a press conference organized at the party state central office today, state chief Manish Sahni said that the inauguration of the Prabhu Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22 and the Pran Pratistha ceremony is being eagerly awaited. The enthusiasm of crores of devotees to go to the temples and immerse themselves in the devotion of Lord Shri Ram and witness this auspicious occasion through TV channels is at its peak. Respecting the religious sentiments of the people, he demands to declare a public holiday on this auspicious occasion in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and issuing instructions to keep liquor and meat shops closed. Shiv Sena has made a written request to the Chief Secretary and Divisional Commissioner of Jammu and Kashmir regarding these demands. Sahni also appeals to the shopkeepers and organizations to keep meat and liquor shops closed on 22 January.
Along with this, Sahni said that, on this auspicious occasion, , the party high command will organize Maha Aarti of Lord Shri Ram on the banks of Godavari to worship Lord Shri Ram in the Kalaram Temple of Nashik in Maharashtra. In which party chief Honorable Uddhav Saheb Thackeray will also be present. Sahni said that the Shiv Sainiks of Jammu and Kashmir present in this holy ceremony will take the blessings of Lord Shri Ram. Sahni said that Kalaram temple of Nashik is dedicated to Lord Ram. It is believed that Lord Rama stayed here in Panchavati with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman during his exile. On this occasion, President Meenakshi Chhibber, Vice President Sanjeev Kohli, President Kamgar Wing Raj Singh, Jagbir Kumar were present.
