UDHAMPUR, Jan 12
The Department of Social Welfare Udhampur orchestrated an impactful sensitization program on “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan,” BBBP and other women-centric initiatives here today at Panchayat Muttal. Held under the adept guidance of District Social Welfare Officer Kanika Gupta, the program primarily focused on combating drug abuse among the youth.
Account Assistant Sonali Devi and Financial Literacy Specialist (DHEW) Mission Shakti played a pivotal role in raising awareness about the deleterious impact of drugs. They emphasized positive actions among the youth and championed the slogan “SAY NO TO DRUGS” under the “NASHA MUKT BHARAT” campaign. Sonali Devi also elucidated on BBBP and various women-centric schemes operating in District Udhampur, encouraging community participation.
The program witnessed the active participation of PRI members, AWWs, senior citizens, and other local residents, totaling 40 participants. During the event, DHEW and OSC staff passionately urged parents to empower girls through education, emphasizing the pivotal role education plays in societal well-being.
As a tangible commitment to community well-being, the Department concluded the program by providing baby kits to newborns and medical kits to senior citizens, reinforcing their dedication to the holistic health of the community.
