Congress today termed the 10 years of BJP regime as an era of great economic, social and political injustice in the country in which the rate of unemployment has increased three time . Economic condition of the people is at the lowest level, manifold increase in atrocities on women, SC, ST, OBCs and minorities besides many assaults on the democracy and the Constitution have been witnessed , for which Shri Rahul Gandhi would lead the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra from Manipur on 14th January to raise the voice of people.
Akhilesh Pratap Singh, AICC Spokesperson said this here today while addressing a Press Conference at PCC HQ Jammu flanked by Senior PCC leaders including Shr Raman Bhalla-Working President, Shri Ravinder Sharma, Senor Vice President and Chief Spokesperson, Shri T.S. Bajwa (Ex-MP) , Shri Ved Mahajan (Ex-MLC), Shri Vinod Sharma (all Vice Presidents) and other senior leaders.
The AICC leader said that there has been severe assault on the economic, social and democratic rights of the people and the constitutional institutions in the country in 10 years of BJP regime. The record unemployment has frustrated the youth as the number of unemployed has bee increased to 4 crores in 2022 from one crore in 2012 and the unemployment rate is highest in 45 years. The unprecedented price rise in petrol, diesel, LPG, CNG. Flour, pulses, rice and other essential commodities, imposition of GST on them has reduced the domestic savings to lowest of fifty years.
The condition of farmers is very bad as atleast one farer commit suicide every hour. There has been 46.11 % increase on atrocities on the Dalits and 48.15 % increase on Adiwasies post 2013 onwards as per NCRB data. The crime against women is highest as in 2022 there were 51 FIRs every hour as per official data, he added. He said that there has been severe fall in the manufacturing sector from 2014 onwards and it reached 13 % at the lowest level in 2022 exposing the claims of make in India as the Government makes such claims after importing and assembling the parts of mobiles from China. He reiterated the charge that BJP Govt. is pro-rich as he said that 13% of richest persons of the country own over 40% of the total wealth of the country. While the poor own 3% of the total wealth in the country.
He further said that Modi Govt. has given clean chit to China in June 19, 2022 which was grave insult to our martyred Jawans and even after 18 rounds of Army talks , there has been no progress on the continued illegal occupation of China over 2000 Squire Kilometer of Indian territory . He said that former Army Chief M.S. Narwane has claimed that PM has imposed Agnipath Yojana which has weakened our defence system. Amidst claim of normalcy our Jawans have been becoming targets of terrorists attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.
The AICC leader referred to the assault on democracy and said that post 2014 95% of ED and CBI investigations are targeted towards opposition leaders , besides opposition governments in Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Karnatka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Manipur were brought down through misuse of agencies. He said that Election Commission has been made teethless as it take cognizance against opposition while BJP and PM Modi go scot free for violations. He said that the latest example is that suspension of 146 Opposition MPs in order to clear the three controversial laws in the Parliament. He said that Modi Govt. t diverts the attention of the people from the real issues facing the country and democracy and its failures in various fronts and uses diversionary tactics by taking recourse to religious and other emotional issues but the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ will focus on the real issues facing the country and the countrymen on the economics , social and political fronts and the threats to the democracy and the constitution besides the basic idea of India.
