A meeting of District Congress Committee Jammu Urban under the presidentship of Th. Manmohan Singh was held here today at Jammu in which the strategy and preparations for forthcoming Parliamentary elections was discussed, besides general problems of people were highlighted.
Speaking on the occasion he asked the party functionaries of the grass root level to gear up themselves for the elections to the Lok Sabha and also elections to the JMC and Assembly whenever held. He said that Block and ward committees would be strengthened further in order to gear up the urban district for the ensuing elections in the state. He exhorted upon block and ward presidents to convene meetings in their respective blocks and wards to aware people about the polices and programmes of Congress party.
Manmohan Singh further said that we must try to win the trust and confidence of people and spread the policies and programmes to the party as well. He appealed the party functionaries to liberally contribute in the ‘Donate for Desh’ fund launched by AICC.
Manmohan Singh said BJP leadership in the state always sincerely followed the dictates of BJP high command and bartered the interests of Jammu. He said that the so called champions of Jammu utterly failed to represent the aspirations of people and safeguard their interests, be it educated youth, farmers, traders or employees/workers and betrayed the trust reposed in BJP by the Jammu people. Now the people are eagerly waiting to teach lesson to the BJP in the Parliament as well as in Assembly and Local Body elections.

Khajuria, Pawan Dev Singh, Vijay Malhotra, Atul Sharma, Sat Pal Sapolia, Nageshwar, Pawan Sharma, Rakesh Sharma,, Sanjeev Katal, Latish Sharma,, Kewal Jogi, Som Nat Shama, Chander Shekhar Sharma, Manohan Sharma, Danesh Verma, H.S. Bagi, Rishu Kumar, Raj Kumar, Rajeev and Ram Dayal also spoke in the meeting.
