BBIA delegations interacts with Commissioner, State Tax Department

A delegation from the Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA), led by Sh. Lalit Mahajan, President, BBIA, recently met with Sh. P. K. Bhat (JKAS), Commissioner, State Taxes Department, J&K. The meeting was attended by Sh. Tarun Singla, Sr. Vice President, BBIA, Sh. Viraaj Malhotra, General Secretary, BBIA, and Sh. Rajesh Jain, Secretary BBIA.
The purpose of the meeting was to welcome Sh. P.K. Bhat (JKAS) on his appointment as Commissioner, State Taxes Department, J&K, and to discuss various issues pertaining to the industrial sector for early resolution. The delegation raised concerns related to the issuance of a Onetime Amnesty Notification in respect of Time Barred Cases of CGST/SGST Reimbursement.
Additionally, they highlighted the need for the reimbursement of SGST to existing units as of March 31, 2021, under Substantial Expansion with the change in the line of Activity/Manufacturing of Additional Items. The delegation also brought forth issues concerning the Local Steel Industries, emphasizing the importance of addressing these concerns for the overall growth and development of the industrial sector in the region.
Another significant point of discussion was the time-bound release of funds by the Finance Department for the reimbursement of GST and other related issues affecting the Industrial Sector. In response to these concerns, P.K. Bhat (JKAS), Commissioner, State Taxes Department, J&K, assured the delegation that all pending issues related to the Industrial Sector would be given due attention and resolved in a timely manner.

The positive assurance from Commissioner P.K. Bhat reflects a commitment to addressing the challenges faced by the industrial community and fostering a conducive environment for growth and prosperity in the region. The BBIA delegation appreciated the Commissioner’s proactive approach and looks forward to collaborative efforts in resolving these issues for the benefit of the industrial sector in Jammu & Kashmir.
