Asserting that women play a vital role in the society, the Apni Party Senior Vice President, Jammu, Ghulam Hassan Mir has emphasized upon the empowerment of women to upgrade them educationally, economically, politically and socially to upgrade the living standard of the society and to make society vibrant.
As per a press release, a meeting of women wing was organized by Provincial President Women Wing Jammu, Pavneet Kour here at Apni Party Office, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. The meeting was also attended by Provincial President, Jammu, S. Manjit Singh and other leaders.
While chairing the meeting of the women wing, Ghulam Hassan Mir reviewed the working of the women wing and suggested certain measures that need to be taken to gain more strength on the ground.
He appreciated the women wing and its leadership for educating women about the policy and agenda of the Party.
He said that the Apni Party believes that the women are not fully empowered. Therefore, the educational, economic, political, and social empowerment of women is must to fully empower the women and upgrade the living standard of the society. “It becomes imperative to fully empower women in Jammu and Kashmir so that they can resolve their own issues,” said Mir.
He said that the women should come forward and join the Apni Party which has provided appropriate representation to the women folk.
“The involvement of women in politics is important to fight for their rights which have been guaranteed by the constitution of the country,” he said. He further stated that the Apni Party is committed to the empowerment of women.
Accordingly, he said that the Party has committed to enhance marriage assistance from Rs 50000 to Rs 1 lakhs for the girls belonging to poor families, enhancement of widow pension up to Rs 5000, and supply of four cooking gas cylinders per year to each family under Ujjwala Scheme, belonging to economically weaker section of society.
He also said that the participation of women in economic activities will boost the economy as well as upgrade the living standard of the society, especially the women and young girls.
“The education of women and awareness among them about their rights must for their empowerment,” he added.
Meanwhile, Provincial President, Jammu, S. Manjit Singh also spoke on the occasion and held detailed deliberation about the activities of women wing.
He said that the women from different segments of society have joined the Apni Party after being impressed with the policy and agenda of equitable development in Jammu and Kashmir.
Similarly, Pavneet Kour, Provincial President, Women Wing, Jammu also explained the organizational working.
