Lord Shri Ram’s devotees braving cold to distribute ‘Akshat’ in J&K: Raman Suri

“The drive to distribute ‘Akshat’ among crores ofhouseholds including those in Jammu and Kashmir, ahead of Shri Ram ji Temple consecration scheduled on January 22, is going on at full pace even in the hostile weather conditions. Undeterred devotees of Lord Shri Ram are continuing to brave the cold weather conditions in Jammu and Kashmir and are moving from house to house and street to street to distribute the Akshat brought in from Ayodhya, the birth place of Lord Shri Ram”.
This was stated by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri, who said that the ‘AKSHAT’ are the worshippedrice mixed with turmeric and ghee, and are being distributed in a full-fledged manner amongst crores of households across the country, ahead of Shri Ram jiTemple consecration at Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh on January 22, 2024. He added that the people of Jammu&Kashmir are extremelyfortunate to receive theblessing of Lord Shri Ram in the form of the pious ‘Akshat’,thedistribution drive of which is going on undauntedly even in the harsh weather conditions.
The drive to distribute Akshat, he said, was launched from Ayodhya and will continue tilla week before the day of consecration ceremony, that is, tillJanuary 15, 2024. Raman Suri said that the General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust (SRJBTKshetra) Champat Rai ji, Vishva Hindu Parishad, and the volunteers of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) had made a beginning from Lucknow and other towns around Ayodhya and distributed paper pouches containing the ‘Akshat’, an image of the Shri Ram ji temple and a pamphlet describing the details of the temple complex.
Raman Suri said, in Jammu and Kashmir, the distribution drive was initiated from Jammu by the Vishva Hindu Parishad’s (VHP) J&K Ladakh unit. A grand program was organised by the VHP in the ground of Ved Mandir, Jammu during which the importance of ‘Akshat’ was emphasised upon and the ‘Akshat Kalash’ (Kalash filled with Akshat) were handed over to the Sanyojaks and Seh-Sanyojaks to further distribute those amongst the people of J&K.
Raman Suri urged people who are receiving the ‘Akshat’ to gather at temples in their neighbourhood, organise hawans and puja while reciting the name of Lord Shri Ram at least 108 times on the consecration day. He said that since everyone cannot be present at the consecration site in Ayodhya, people are advised to follow suggestions of the management of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and offer prayers at temples on the auspicious day and watch the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony, which will take place at 12.20 pm on January 22. He also requesting the people to light the ‘Ram Jyoti’at their homesand ‘celebrate Deepawali on the historic dayof the consecration of Ramlalla’s idol’, asurged by our Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
