Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM) conducted a comprehensive two-day online media workshop on 1st and 2nd of January, 2024 aimed at fortifying its internal media ecosystem. The event delved into pivotal discussions led by esteemed experts, on four key topics emphasizing various facets of the media’s role in shaping ideological outreach and narratives.
The keynote sessions covered diverse topics crucial to contemporary media landscapes. Shri Sunil Ambkar, National Prachar Pramukh of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh highlighted the Role of internal impactful Media ecosystem in Setting Ideological Outreach, shedding light on the power of media in shaping and disseminating ideologies.
He said, ” Teachers are the elite class in our society and they need to be extra vigilant about happenings around us and should be ready to counter fake narratives and disinformation.”
The discourse on “Role of Social Media in Building Narratives,” conducted by Shri Ayush , Director Adriotec Group of Companies who emphasized the impact and significance of social platforms in shaping public narratives and perceptions. He quoted various examples where timely actions by some intellectuals not only successfully countered the wrong narratives but posed the true pictures in the public domain.
Furthermore, Shri Prafulla Ketkar, Senior Journalist and Editor of “The Organisor” elucidated the “Role of Media in a War of Narratives,” discussing how media plays a pivotal role during conflicts and the impact it holds in shaping the narrative during such times. He said, “In the present era of Neo Media, an organisational internal media eco system would not only help in strengthening the organisation but can contribute to the society also.”
Finally, the session on the “Role of Media Influencers in Building Narratives,” was taken by Shri K G Suresh, Senior Journalist, Academician and Vice Chancellor of Makhan Lal Chaturvedi University of Journalism and Mass communication, explored the influence wielded by media personalities, writers, blogers and vlogger in crafting and disseminating narratives across various spheres.
He asked the participants to start writing on various educational, social and local issues based on India Knowledge system so that the present generation should know about our rich heritage and culture of India.
Participants engaged in interactive discussions, exchanged ideas to bolster the organizational media ecosystem. The workshop not only offered a platform for knowledge dissemination but also fostered collaborative thinking among members of State Media Teams from across Bharat, reinforcing the understanding of the media’s profound impact on societal perceptions and ideological frameworks.
Prof. Narayan Lal Gupta, National Additional General Secretary of ABRSM spoke on the annual Callender of ABRSM which is based on the Indian ethos and vision of India mentioned on Logos of various Indian official organisations/Departments etc. Shri Mahendra Kapoor, National Organising secretary of ABRSM in his address stressed on the need of the official calendar of activities and its implementation.
Darshan Kumar, National Convener of Media Prokosht Of ABRSM conducted the proceedings of the Workshop.
Shri J P Singhal, National President of ABRSM, Shri Shivanand Sindhnkhera, Shri G. Lakshman, National joint organising secretary, Shri Mahendra Kumar, National Vice president, Members of University, Colleges, States/UTs Media Teams , presidents and secretaries of ABRSM from across Bharat attended the workshop.
