Praising the “large-hearted and broad-based politics” of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Monday said Vajpayee played a key role in making him the CM in 2005 but quickly added that he had not been upset with INDIA bloc.
The Bihar CM was talking to mediapersons on the sidelines of a function to mark birth anniversary of the former PM.
Amid speculation of JD (U) reopening its communication channel with BJP after not being given any key role in INDIA bloc, the JD (U) supremo said: “We have gathered here to pay tribute to Atal ji under whose prime ministership I had worked as a Union minister. He also played a key role in making me CM (in 2005).”
Asked about rumblings in the JD (U) and INDIA bloc, he said: “These days, some people speak to get some personal benefits but no one is going to gain anything from it.”
Downplaying reports of being upset with INDIA bloc, he said:
“I do not want anything for myself. My only attempt and wish is to work together (with allies).”
