Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, Jammu celebrated the Christmas Day and New Year on 23 December 2023 in the school premises under the supervision of Mrs. Devinder Kour, Principal of the school. The students presented Colorful programme which included small skits, poems and cultural items etc. under the supervision of Mrs. Sheetal Basotra, Incharge Activity. Junior students, who were dressed as Santa in red & white clothes, carried bag full of goodies & distributed candies & gifts .Small but impressive scenes on the life of Jesus Christ were presented. Small kids of pre-primary classes presented Jingle Bell song which was appreciated by the students present there. Children also spoke about the true meaning of Christmas and ornaments that are hung on a Christmas tree like the shiny star, the silver bell, the red & white candies, the wreath, the candle & the Santa. The festive spirit was witnessed among school, staff & students. The Managing Director, Sh. Gambhir Dev Singh Charak in his brief speech asked one and all to spread the message of Jesus Christ who laid his life for truth, peace and love to eradicate the miseries of life.
Mrs. Devinder Kour, Principal spoke on the occasion and threw light on rituals related to Christmas and teachings of Jesus Christ like God offers forgiveness to all, God can perform impossible, God provides in his way and God grants peace to all , so we all should pray to God in true spirits. We should ourselves with image of God. She appreciated the efforts of the little ones and the teachers.
Vice-Principal Mrs. Kaajal Bhasin and Incharge Activity Mrs. Sheetal Basotra also addressed the students.
Sweets were distributed to all students by the management of DHSS.
