Jammu and Kashmir BJP General Secretary and former Minister, Sunil Sharma, addressed a youth convention at Verinag in Anantnag district of Kashmir. A large number of youth in particular attended this convention amid chilly weather in the valley.
Sunil Sharma, while addressing the convention, said that youth is the strength of any nation and the society. The youth play a very important role in nation building and motivating the people to remain active in the service of the motherland.
Sunil Sharma said that there has been a very positive change seen in the entire Kashmir Valley. There was a time when the youth in Kashmir were lured to join the militancy and indulge in anti-national activities, causing deaths and destruction. Then a time came, when the youth was used for stone pelting. Today, all has changed. Narendra Modi government, after coming to power, adopted a policy of zero tolerance on terrorism; it took bold decisions to curb militancy. With the successful operations against militancy, peace and normalcy has been restored here, he said.
Sunil Sharma said that in the changed environment, the youth are seen in playgrounds, schools, colleges. He said that the role of youth in bringing peace in the valley has been splendid.
They are not falling prey to the misleading slogans of forces, which are working against India.
He said that the youth is also convinced that the Modi government is really concerned for their dignified social life and has done a lot to provide them with a better avenue to progress and prosper.
Sharma also administered Oath to the youth to strengthen the nationalist forces and march forward for a bright and successful career.
