JAMMU, Dec 22
Former Minister and President, JK National Conference Central Zone (Jammu, Samba and Kathua) Babu Rampaul today chaired a meeting of all the coordinators of Central Zone and discussed the problems being faced by the common masses due to utter failure of present dispensation in redressing the burning issues.
He expressed that people of J&K were facing governing deficit owing to which each and every section of society was suffering badly. “Youth are frustrated due to lack of employment opportunities; old and infirm people are deprived of government support; traders are overburdened with taxes; and general public is reeling under worst ever inflation. But, the government is least bothered about all these issues,” he said. Further, Babu Rampaul flayed the JMC authorities for manifold increase in the fees for various services offered by it. He said, “common masses are already overburdened with different kind of taxes and the decision of JMC authorities has only added to their miseries.” He demanded immediate roll back of the order issued by JMC authorities so as to lessen burden on the poor people who are already hand to mouth due to steep rise in inflation. He also impressed upon the Central Zone coordinators of JKNC to launch vigorous door to door campaign in their respective areas regarding the anti-people policies of present dispensation. He asked them to remain in the state of preparedness for forthcoming Parliament, Assembly as well as Local Body polls. He further said that no democracy can survive without elections as popular government is the soul and people are its body. He maintained that the fight for restoration of statehood to J&K shall be the foremost agenda of the party. He also said that youth hold the key for formation of popular government in J&K and only NC is the party which has the vision to ensure equitable development and fulfillment of the aspirations of all segments of society.
He urged the people to whole-heartedly support JKNC and strengthen the hands of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Jenab Omar Abdullah so that J&K could return back to the path of peace and prosperity.
Zonal Secretary and Coordinator Jammu District Urban JKNC, Dr Vikas Sharma while speaking on the occasion said that it was under NC’s rule that the erstwhile state was among top states of our country.
Sharma urged upon the youth, retirees and the women to play an active role in the upcoming polls and vote for peace, progress, identity with dignity and to ensure democracy survives at any cost.
He further said NC had always worked to provide more and more employment opportunities to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. Various employment schemes like Rehbar-e-Talim, Rehbar-e-Khel, Rehbar-e-Zirat etc were launched by the NC government.
Among those who attended the meeting included, Sham Lal Mehra, Surjit Singh Sassan, Bharat Bhushan, Adv. Rajinder Chanyal, Arvind Jamwal, BD Dalotra, and others.
