DOGRA HERALD BUREAU
JAMMU, Dec 21
Adv Purnima Sharma, Spokesperson BJP J&K UT and former Deputy Mayor, while condemning in strongest terms the unprecedented misconduct by the Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee resorting to mimicry of Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar in the Parliament, has demanded the said MP’s apology in the highest temple of democracy.
In a statement issued to media here today, the senior BJP leader accused the opposition Parliamentarians of stooping to the lowest level so much so that they have not humiliated RS Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar only but it is an insult of the nation. He said that as if this was not enough that the so called Congress leader Rahul Gandhi started video recording of the un-parliamentary behaviour of the happening making it go viral. He said that act has dismayed the people across the nation more so as the Vice President was humiliated in the Parliament complex.
He asserted that though the elected representatives must be free to express themselves yet their expression should be within contours of dignity and courtesy befitting the Parliamentary tradition and the people of India expect them to uphold it.
The senior BJP leader said that it is quite shameful for anyone who holds the membership of the House and resorts to such un-parliamentarian language and gestures. She said the opposition alliance has fallen in the habit of doing such dramas in different cities. Even earlier they made wrong comments about the first tribal woman President, Droupadi Murmu, she added.
Purnima said that this exposes the utter frustration on the part of the opposition coterie due to their finding no chance of coming back to power. She said that the people of this nation are wise enough to see through every game plan of the opposition’s unholy alliance and its leaders.
Asserting that such Parliamentarians will undoubtedly be shown the door in the 2024 elections, she said that the MPs involved in the unfortunate incident of mimicry and filming should without any further delay tender a public apology in the highest temple of democracy.
