The 2nd quarter General Council Meeting of District Development Council Kishtwar was today presided over by the Council Chairperson Kishtwar Pooja Thakur at the Conference Hall, DC Office Complex.
The meeting was attended by BDCs, DDCs, and commenced with a warm welcome by CEO General Council, Sham Lal.
He emphasized the purpose of the meeting as highlighting and addressing the concerns of the DDCs and BDCs. Stress was laid on seamless collaboration among district officers to address these concerns effectively.
Joint Director Planning, Mohd Iqbal; CEO, Kishtwar Development Authority, Dr. Rishi Kumar Sharma; ACR , Varunjeet Singh Charak; ACP, Zakir Hussain Wani; ACD Manoj Kumar; DPO Sunil Bhutyal, along with the presence of and various district and sectoral officers were also present. The meeting asked for timely submission of project proposals for the upcoming FY 2024-25. The ADDC urged the concerned Councillors and PRIs to cooperate in this regard for early formulation of the plan . Joint Director Planning gave a comprehensive presentation on the Physical and Financial progress under Area Development Plan and District Capex Budget 2023-24. The achievements revealed a 90 percent completion rate in various projects, with special mention to PMAY-G initiative. Three crucial resolutions were passed in the meeting addressing modifications in State Marriage Assistance Schemes, MGNREGA road construction at Tiyari, and recommending the Chullah Chowkidari as eligibility criteria adjustments, highlighting the council’s proactive role in enhancing local welfare.
Chairperson Pooja Thakur reviewed action taken on previous grievances, urging officers to ensure timely redressal, while members echoed concerns about sluggish developmental projects in some areas, duly noted for necessary redressal by departmental heads.
The DDC Chairperson emphasised the dire need for inter-departmental coordination, emphasizing the removal of hurdles and prompt resolution to align with public aspirations, fostering equitable and swift-paced development in the district.
