DC reviews achievements under RDD Sector in Rajouri District

Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today conducted a comprehensive review of achievements made under the Rural Development Department (RDD) sector. During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner took a comprehensive review of the progress made under District Capex Budget, MGNREGA, PMAY and Awas Plus, pendency of Court cases etc. While taking a review of the progress under the District Capex Budget, it was informed that a staggering 2590 out of 3897 works have been successfully completed, reflecting a robust execution of planned projects. Under Samridh Seema Yojana (SSY), 92 works have been completed, the meeting was told. A key highlight of the review pertained to the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), where an impressive 151,334 man-days have been generated to date. Further emphasizing the impact of MGNREGA, a total of 3099 works have been completed. The DC reviewed the progress made under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) and Awas Plus which have been pivotal in addressing housing needs in the district. It was informed that out of 62,568 houses planned, an impressive 35,022 have been completed. Inquiring about the court cases of the RDD pending in the High Court and Subordinate courts, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of regular perusal to achieve early decision. He directed all officers involved to adhere to the highest ethical standards and to prioritize the best interests of the community while dealing with these legal matters. Asking for unwavering commitment to expeditious justice, the DC directed the officers to expedite the submission of replies for the remaining cases without any unnecessary delays. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for sustained momentum in implementing developmental schemes to ensure comprehensive and inclusive growth across the district. The review of the achievements under Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin (SBM-G), revealed substantial progress with the construction of 123,966 Individual Household Latrine (IHHL) units and the ongoing door-to-door waste collection across all panchayats in the district.
The review extended to SBM-G Phase-II activities, encompassing the construction of Segregation Sheds, Common Service Centers (CSCs), Community Soakage Pits, Community Compost Pits, and units dedicated to plastic waste management.
The comprehensive review served as a testament to the commitment of the District Administration to rural development, underscoring the positive impact of various schemes and initiatives on the lives of its residents.
Among others, Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Khurshid; Assistant Commissioner Development Vijay Kumar; Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Sheraz Chowhan; District Panchayat Officer Auqil Nuvaid; Executive Engineer REW, Zahir Khan and Block Development Officer attended the meeting.
