IQAC of Dogra Law College organises an Interactive Session with Dr. Shruti Bist

IQAC of Dogra Law College was delighted to host Dr. Shruti Bist (Advocate on Record, at Supreme Court of India) and Dr. Nitan Sharma, Assistant Professor, The Law School, University of Jammu for an interactive session on “Artificial Intelligence And Human Rights”. The event started with the welcome address by Ms. Shaleeza Shabir student of B.A LL.B 5 year 5th Semester. This was followed by the lighting of the lamp by all the dignitaries and evoking the blessings of almighty. The event also witnessed the presentation of mementos and saplings to esteemed dignitaries, recognizing their invaluable contributions to the fields of AI and human rights.
Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister and Chairman Dogra Educational Trust, Professor Avdhesh Pratap, Principal Dogra Law College was also present on this special occasion.
Dr. Shruti Bist commenced the discourse by navigating the audience through the evolving landscape of AI, emphasizing its transformative impact on various facets of society. Her keen insights into the legal dimensions surrounding AI shed light on the pressing issues of privacy, bias, accountability, and the ethical considerations that demand our attention in the digital age.
Dr. Nitan Sharma renowned for his expertise in AI ethics shared profound insights into the ethical dimensions of AI applications, emphasizing the need for a harmonious coexistence with human rights principles. Dr. Nitin Sharma also spoke on AI policy, presented perspectives on the societal implications of AI technologies and their potential effects on fundamental human rights.
The vote of thanks was graciously delivered by Mr. Abhishek, Vice President of the Student Council, who expressed gratitude to the distinguished speakers, attendees, and organizers for making the event a resounding success. The Program ended with the National Anthem.
