MP Khatana discusses crucial road projects in J&K with Gadkari

MP Rajya Sabha, Er. Gulam Ali Khatana, today met with the Minister for Roads, Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, to review the progress of various developmental projects in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting, held at New Delhi, witnessed in-depth discussions on key infrastructure initiatives and the imperative integration of modern technology to enhance road safety.
A primary concern addressed during the meeting was the urgent need for advanced crash barriers on critical roads such as Jammu-Srinagar, Batote-Kishtwar, which have unfortunately turned into perilous routes for commuters.
Recognizing the pressing issue, Er. Gulam Ali Khatana emphasized the importance of deploying cutting-edge technology in these areas to minimize accidents and ensure the safety of the traveling public.
MP Khatana discussed vital projects, with a particular focus on the progress of the Jammu-Kathua road, Katra-Amritsar, and the Delhi road.
He sought updates on these initiatives, stressing their significance in fostering connectivity, economic growth, and overall development in the region.
Minister Nitin Gadkari affirmed the Government of India’s unwavering commitment to building world-class road networks, with a special emphasis on border states.
He highlighted the transformative changes witnessed in Jammu and Kashmir over the past nine years, attributing these developments to the government’s dedicated efforts.
Minister Gadkari assured that the Ministry for Roads, Transport, and Highways would continue to prioritize the development of robust infrastructure, with an overarching goal of ensuring seamless connectivity and fostering economic prosperity in the region.
