DOGRA HERALD BUREAU
JAMMU, Dec 9
Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit has accused the Modi government at the Center of marginalizing Hindus and Sikhs in Jammu and indifference towards the demands of rehabilitation of Kashmiri Hindus and PoJK displaced persons.
In a press conference held at the party state office in Jammu, State President Manish Sahni said that the ten year tenure of the BJP government at the Center is about to complete. A long time has passed for the reorganization of Jammu and Kashmir.
But Minority Commission has not been formed in Jammu and Kashmir. The population of Hindus in Jammu and Kashmir is 28% and Sikhs are only 2%, these figures have remained the same for the last 50 years.
Despite being a Union Territory, minority Hindus and Sikhs are not being given their rights.
The safe return of Kashmiri Hindus, who have been living a displaced life for the last 35 years, has not been possible and the demands of the PoJK displaced people (whose population is around 15 lakh and 99.99 percent of which are Hindus and Sikhs) are also being continuously ignored.
Which proves that the Hindus and Sikhs are marginalization in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sahni urged the Modi government at the Center to set up a Minority Commission in Jammu and Kashmir with immediate effect, provide status and benefits of facilities to all minorities including Hindus and Sikhs, Safe return of Kashmiri Hindus to the valley and PoJK displaced people should be de-frozen 10 seats out of 24 seats in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly in their favor.
Sahni said that a memorandum to Union Home Minister Sh. Amit Shah has been submitted During the meeting with the Chief secretary Sh Atal Dulloo(IAS) during his yesterday meeting regarding the above demands. On this occasion Rakesh Gupta, GI Singh, Sanjeev Kohli, Raj Singh were present.
