Dogra Degree College celebrates Human Rights’ Day

Arts Department, DDC in collaboration with NSS unit of DDC, Bassi Kalan, Bari Brahmana, Jammu organized a awareness lecture followed by a Quiz Competition to mark the “Human Rights Day” which is celebrated on the 10th of December every year under the supervision of Priyanka Sharma, NSS Programme Officer and Monika Sharma, Assistant Professor in Political Science, Dogra Degree College. 30 NSS volunteers from BBA, B.A & B.COM Department participated in the event.
Dogra Degree College took this opportunity to highlight the role of education in empowering individuals (both men & women) to stand up for their rights and to become advocates for positive change. Students were encouraged to reflect on the significance of human rights in their daily lives and consider their responsibilities in upholding these principles.
The main motive behind the celebration of this day was to encourage the students, who are the young blood and future of the nation, to know about the rights of equality.
Bela Thakur, Principal Dogra Degree College and the faculty members appreciated the students and organizing committee for conducting the event.
