DDC Reasi reviews progress achieved under healthcare programs

District Development Commissioner, Reasi Vishesh Mahajan today reviewed the performance of the health department in the implementation of different disease eradication programs. He was chairing a meeting of District Health Society to assess the National Tuberculosis Eradication (NTEP), RBSK & over all patient care scenario in the District.
At the outset, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ravinder welcomed the attendees and gave an overview of the different schemes/programs being implemented in Reasi district.
The District TB Officer Reasi/Udhampur delivered a detailed presentation on the NTEP program, complete with a PowerPoint presentation and discussion of key performance indicators. Later, DNO RBSK/School Health also gave a presentation on RBSK.
The meeting discussed and addressed various issues, including the need for presumptive TB testing, increasing TB notifications through more tests, enhancing diagnostic testing capabilities in the district by engaging new True-NAT Mobile Medical Unit , 100% screening of IPD, RTI and placing a strong emphasis on drug susceptibility testing for all TB patients. Additionally, bi-directional screening of patients with HIV, diabetes, tobacco use, smoking history, as well as individuals visiting counseling centers for de-addiction and workers in hotels, restaurants, and dhabhas were emphasized by DC and CMO Reasi. The meeting stressed the involvement of all government employees in “Ni-kshay Mitra” and engaging PRIs and the education department in creating awareness towards achieving TB-free villages and Panchayats. The DC Reasi urged all stakeholders to formulate an action plan, enlisting cooperation from different sectors.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to make Reasi district TB-free by 2025, aligning with the National Plan for a TB-Free India, ahead of the Global target of 2030.
The DDC Reasi also directed to adopt a mission mode approach in meeting the target under RBSK and asked to lay special focus on block Mahore.
Besides, the DC called for screening of adolescent girls/boys/ PwDs under Anemia Mukt Bharat with special camps in far flung areas.
Furthermore, the DDC Mahajan also directed to cover the left out beneficiaries under PMJAY/SEHAT scheme & directed to devise a plan for the same. It was decided that Special camps will be conducted from Monday onwards at DC Office/SDM office Katra, Mahore, Dharmari & Tehsil office Pouni.
The Meeting was attended by ADDC, ADC, PO ICDS, CEO, DSWO, MS DH, DHO, DTO, Dy. CMO, DIO (Health), DIO (Information), NO RBSK, BMOs, DNO (Ayush, DPM, DAM, DMEO, DISM, DEIC Manager.
