JAMMU, Dec 7
Displaced community of Kashmir Hindu places on record its pleasure, said Kashmir Displaced Community leaders, while addressing a Press Conference at BJP office, Kachi Chawni, Jammu.
Former MLC Girdhari Lal Raina and BJP KDD President Chandji Bhat accompanied by other community leaders addressed the media persons on the occasion. Delight and appreciation for the government’s decision to reserve two seats in the assembly of Jammu Kashmir for the Kashmiri migrant community. This move is historic as well as futuristic. This remarkable step has put an end to the manipulated marginalization and exclusion of the religious minorities of Kashmir. It empowers the community politically and will help restore its political legacy in the Kashmir valley.
The displaced community reminds that in the first election held after the State’s accession to union of India minority community of Kashmir was able to send four representatives to state legislature. But successive governments headed by political parties with divisive agenda manipulated delimitation of territorial constituencies in such a manner as would render the minority community politically ineffective and without their legitimate representatives in elected form.
With passage of the Jammu and Kashmir reorganization Amendment Bill which seeks to nominate two members from the Kashmir migrant community and one representing the displaced persons from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (POK) to the legislative Assembly, this discrimination has been put to an end.
This significant step will empower the community politically and reintegrate the displaced community with the Kashmir milieu and pave the way for dignified, secure and meaningful rehabilitation. The displaced community expresses its gratitude to the Narendra Modi led Union government and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
