The Career Counselling Cell & IIC unit of General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree College, in collaboration with Agriculture Production & Welfare Department organised a One Day Orientation Programme – YUVA VANI to acquaint the students about huge potential of agri- entrepreneurship and the opportunities being provided by the government through flagship Holistic Agriculture Development Plan (HADP).
The event aimed at attracting the youth falling in the 18-35 age group towards agriculture and allied sectors as a business opportunity. The program was organised under the patronage of the college Principal Prof. (Dr.) Kulvinder Kour in convenorship of Prof. Norin Akhtar. Prof. (Dr.) Kulvinder Kour, Principal GDC Reasi and Rajesh Verma, District Agriculture Officer, Reasi was the chief guest of the event, while Vinod Khajuria, Sub Division Agriculture officer Reasi, Vikas Sharma, AEO Reasi and Kewal Krishan, SDL Reasi were the key speaker of the event.
Earlier, the coordinator of event and convener IIC of GDC Reasi, Prof. Norin Akhtar welcomed the Chief Guest, Guest Speakers, officers from Agriculture and Sericulture Department and other participants.
Speaking of the event, Kewal Krishan highlighted the opportunities our youth can avail through government schemes in the agriculture sector. The chief Guest Rajesh Verma encouraged the students to explore and avail the business opportunity agriculture sector provide to youth in the form of employment generation. Vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Palvinder Kumari. The programme was attended by Prof. Narender Kumar, Dr. Saleem Ahmed, Prof. Anchal Raj and Prof. Gourav Gupta.
