The 10 day Training Programme organized for breeders under the Capacity Building component for (HADP Project) for effective processing and marketing of wool & Pelt concluded today.
Felicitation ceremony to distribute the certificates among Shearing trainees was organized at Sheep Husbandry Complex Jammu.
Director Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary emphasised the need of organizing such training on regular intervals to keep the breeders abreast of new techniques of shearing and management of sheep for better employment generation. He exhorted the officers to put in earnest efforts to develop these sectors for the growth of the economic profile of the farmers. The department has a major role in development of small ruminant sectors to upgrade the socio- economic status of the rural masses of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Among others who were present included Dr. Surinder Gupta (Deputy Director, Central), Dr. Pritam Manhas, Principal Training Class Kartholi, Dr. Vijay Kumar Officer Incharge Training Class Kartholi, Dr. Pankaj Sharma Store Officer and Dr. Aastha Sharma Shearing Inspector and Mr. Asheesh Sharma Publicity Officer Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu.
