JAMMU, Nov 30
Senior Jammu & Kashmir BJP leader and former JMC Councillor, Sanjay Baru, embarked on an extensive tour of Ward No. 41 in the Jammu West assembly Constituency, aiming to connect with and understand the concerns of diverse local resident groups. During his engagements, he took the opportunity to highlight the significant developmental strides witnessed across the entire region of Jammu & Kashmir under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In his discussions with the local populace, Baru vehemently criticized and castigated opposition parties like the National Conference, People’s Democratic Party, and Indian National Congress. He accused these parties of thriving on divisive ideologies centered around animosity and anti-national sentiments. Baru claimed that these political entities were driven solely by self-serving motives and harbored deep-rooted prejudices against communities different from their own. He emphasized that the general public has become increasingly aware of what he referred to as the insincerity and hypocritical leadership exhibited by these opposition parties.
Providing a detailed overview of the developmental initiatives in the Jammu region, Baru underscored the tremendous progress made in transforming the cityscape. He highlighted the allocation of substantial funds towards Smart city projects and commended the exemplary efforts of the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) over the last five years.
Specifically, Baru elaborated on various infrastructural enhancements implemented during this period. He pointed out the installation of an extensive network of streetlights, exceeding 90,000 in number, strategically placed across different wards within the JMC. The successful implementation of door-to-door garbage collection significantly improved the city’s sanitation and aesthetics, eradicating numerous garbage sites and effectively reducing the risk of communicable diseases. Moreover, ongoing projects such as the Tawi River Front were projected to add to the city’s visual appeal.
Baru stressed the significance of numerous infrastructural improvements, including extensive repairs to city lanes and drains, comprehensive electrical reforms featuring the addition of transformers and essential infrastructure, road expansions, and the construction of new flyovers and raised roads. Notably, he emphasized the importance of a substantial traffic diversion plan involving the construction of circular roads, a project costing over 2000 crore rupees, aimed at enhancing public welfare and traffic management in the sacred city.
Throughout his tour, Sanjay Baru was accompanied by a cadre of BJP leaders, including Ashok Singh Wazir, Jatin Sethi, Jatinder Khajuria, Shakti Kendra pramukh Rakesh Sharma, BJYM Mandal President Sanchit Sharma, Bachan Lal Bhagat, Kewal Sharma, Dindayal Sharma, and Girish Sharma, who collectively supported and augmented his interactions with the local community.
