National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah on Saturday said that there was no normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir and those who are claiming are misleading the people of the country.
Omar while reacting to the recent encounter in Rajouri where five soldiers including two officers and two militants dead, said, “There is no normalcy, whosoever claiming are not only deceiving themselves, but also misleading the people of the country.”
The former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister said that there was normalcy in Rajouri during his tenure”.
“During the National Conference rule Rajouri was almost clear from militants. I don’t remember that during my tenure there had been any such encounter at Rajouri,” Omar told reporters in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district after a party convention.
“When you are talking about Rajouri, Kokernag or north Kashmir?at places such encounters are seen here and there,” National Conference Vice President said.
He said BJP is scared of our existence and it is why they delayed ULB, Panchayat and Assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir.
In reply to a question, Omar said that barring a few conventions all were successful.
“.. I don’t say that the National Conference will get all the votes, but I can say if elections were held the people will participate overwhelmingly”, he said and added, “But my and my workers aim is that the National Conference should get maximum votes in elections”.
“This fear is in BJP that is why ULB and Panchayat elections could not hold and there is no name of holding the Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
