KVK Reasi organizes Live Telecast Programme on PM-KISAN

REASI, NOV 15: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi under the administrative control of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies Jammu (SKUAST-J) organised live telecasting programme on Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme here today at Panasa village of Reasi district of J&K which was enthusiastically attended by a large number of farmers of the area.
The programme was organized under the dynamic stewardship of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof.BN Tripathi and able guidance of Director Extension, Prof.SK Gupta of SKUAST-J. Before initiation of the programme, Sr. Scientist & Head of KVK, Reasi, Dr.Banarsi Lal briefed the objective of the programme and elaborated the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme.
He said that under PM-KISAN scheme Rs.6000 is given to the farmers in three installments so that they can purchase quality seeds, fertilizers and other agro- inputs to increase their crop production. He urged farmers to view the live telecast show on PM-KISAN so that they can get more information about the flagship scheme of India.
During the programme Prime Minister, Narender Modi released the 15th installment of PM-KISAN scheme from Khunti, Jharkhand. While speaking during a function on the Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, in Jharkhand he spoke on the women empowerment and appreciated the efforts on the Self Help Groups(SHGs) formation.
He also highlighted the Vishwakarma Yojana and spoke on the new equipments/technologies to be provided under the scheme. He spoke on various other developmental activities. He stressed on millets cultivation and branding of millets as Shree Anna. Dr.Banarsi educated the farmers also on other agril. schemes and gave a detail view on scientific agriculture in Rabi season. He also discussed on Atam Nirbar Krishi and stressed on organic and natural farming for the production of safe food and more returns. He stressed on cluster based approach and discussed on SHGs/FPOs formation.
Dr. Lalit Upadhyay, Scientist spoke on the spices cultivation for enhancing the farmers’ income. He stressed on the commercial floriculture in monkey menace area.
Preeti Chaudhary spoke on the women empowerment and encouraged the women farmers for their outstanding efforts in agricultural development.
Participants keenly listened the PM, Narendra Modi ji and thanked him for their financial support. The farmers were very happy after listening the encouraging words from the Hon’ble Prime Minister.
The programme was assisted by Manohar Lal and concluded by Preeti Chaudhary with formal vote of thanks.
