Bharat Bhushan Bodhi, Chairman District Develop-ment Council (DDC) Jammu has asserted that Administration stands fully committed to provide hassle free facilities and services to the devotees visiting the upcoming Jhiri Mela.
He stated this in his address after kick-starting macadamization work of roads leading to the Temple and Mela site here today. The DDC Chairman said that the black topping of roads linked to the site of Mela has been initiated in view of the upcoming Jhiri Mela.
It is pertinent to mention here that the aforesaid roads include Sua No: 1 to Jhiri road, Simbalwala to Jhiri road and the Bawe Talab to Jhiri road and the road macadamizing project is estimated to be completed at a cost of Rs. 72 lakhs.
While addressing the gathering, Bharat Bhushan Bodhi said that the instant work on the aforesaid roads has been commenced with the main aim is to focus on making the devotees coming from across the nation to pay obeisance at the sanctum sanctorum feel comfortable stay and carry back the experience back home.
The DDC Chairman said that the Administration stands fully committed to provide hassle free services to devotees visiting the Jhiri Mela and all the concerned departments have already geared up to ensure the best facilities and services to those visiting the site.
He said that Health, PHE, PDD, Police and other government departments are working with synergy and full coordination to make the upcoming Mela successful.
Emphasizing on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in and around the vicinity of the temple during Jhiri Mela, Bharat Bhushan said that the concerned departments will leave no stone unturned in ensuring proper sanitation, uninterrupted power supply, regular and safe drinking water, security arrangements, adequate stocks of ration and fire wood, provisions for accommodation of the devotees, deployment of fire tenders at the venue, setting up of stalls by different departments and last but not the least conducting the cultural programmes during the fair.
He asserted that the district administration is committed to provide hassle free services to the devotees visiting the Jhiri Mela.
Prominent among others who accompanied the DDC Chairman on the occasion included the Block Development Council (BDC) Chairman Surinder Kumar, ex Sarpanch Dhananter Singh, Sham Lal Sarpanch Panjore, Sanjay Kumar Sharma Naib Sarpanch and Panch Amrik Singh Sudan.
