CUJ four-month Internship Program concludes

A four-month internship program has been completed by teacher-trainees of the Department of Educational Studies, Central University of Jammu.
Prof. Asit Mantry, Head of the Department said that the School Internship Programme is an integral part of the Four-year integrated B.A.,B.Ed. Programme. He thanked Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor, CUJ, and the principals of the collaborative schools who have facilitated to successful completion of the internship programme. In this event, the teachers of the respective schools, and faculty members of CUJ – Prof. J.N. Baliya, Prof. Ritu Bakshi, Prof. Asit Mantry, Dr. Kiran, Dr. Aman, Dr. Ravi Vanguri, Dr. Yad Ram and Dr. Mohan Galgotra played a key role in mentoring the teacher-trainees.
A total of forty teacher-trainees of Four-year Integrated B.A., B.Ed. programs were allotted four schools for enhancing their teaching skills and getting exposure to school functioning both curricular and co-curricular activities in District Samba. The schools identified for undergoing the internship program were Kendriya Vidyalya at Rahya- Suchani, Gover-nment Girls Higher Secondary School at Jakh, and RSM Government Higher Secondary School at Rahya-Suchani. The internship program was concluded by having interactive feedback sessions with Principals and teaching staff of concerned schools and the teacher educators from CUJ – Dr. Ravi Vanguri, and Dr. Yad Ram. While interacting with Principals and teaching staff, Dr. Ravi Vanguri took feedback and suggestions for making an effective internship program for the upcoming teacher-trainees of the department. In this event, by addressing the teacher-trainees, The Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya of CUJ, said that the teaching profession should be chosen by choice, not by chance.
The upcoming ITEP will provide more opportunities for those who intend to become teachers. He further said that the present teacher-trainees were very interested in teaching classes and actively participated in various school activities of day to day.
The teaching staff also expressed that the teacher-trainees were cooperative in conducting various activities at the classroom level as well as the school level. They all expressed their gladness with a single tone and blessed them for their professional endeavor. The event ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Yad Ram, Co-coordinator of the Internship Program.
