Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi. The chief minister also met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh hours before calling on the prime minister.

Earlier, the CM arrived at the Parliament on Thursday morning. While answering a question of a reporter on his tunning with his deputy DK Shivakumar, Siddharamaiah said, “All are well in Karnataka…There are no differences between me and Shivakumar, we are together”.

This was his first meeting with the Prime Minister, after the Congress formed the government in the state under his leadership, following victory in the Assembly polls in May.

He is also scheduled to meet Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari.

The Chief Minister along with state Congress leaders and Ministers held a meeting with the party leadership in New Delhi on August 2 to strategise on a plan of action for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. Congress president M Mallikarjun Kharge, party leader Rahul Gandhi, General Secretaries K C Venugopal and Randeep Singh Surjewala among others were present at the meeting in the national capital.

“We are hopeful that the “Karnataka Development Model” implementation of our government’s five guarantees will bear fruit in the Lok Sabha elections. We are going to win in 20-24 seats. A detailed discussion about this was held in the meeting of Karnataka ministers and senior leaders held today at the AICC office in Delhi,” Siddharamaiah tweeted after meeting with top Congress leadership.
